Advanced Practice Registered Nurse: FNP

I’ve been a registered nurse for a little over a year but I’m ready to go back to school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. I think I’ve always known that I was going to do this, but the years of schooling just seemed far fetched and tedious. Little did I know that after receiving by BSN, there was a possibility for me to get my doctorate in as little as three years. I anticipated the process being much longer. I’m also really glad that I was able to find good, affordable schools for this process. I know a lot of people say that education is a good debt to have. But I can’t seem to think of a single debt as “good”. In my case, I look at it more as being a necessary evil, a by-product to accomplishing my lifestyle goals. I really want to get out of the bedside role and do something that provides me with greater autonomy so it’s necessary for me to go back to school to create the life that I want.

Here’s to hoping!
